- Give Blood - Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood, which means that more than 38,000 blood donations are needed every day.
- Learn How to Save a Life - Statistics show that over 300,000 Americans die of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) every year. Up to 50,000 of these deaths could have been prevented if someone on scene had been trained in CPR and an automated external defibrillator (AED) had been available.
- Make a Kit – Build a kit for your household. Make sure it has enough food, water and medication for you and your family for at least three (3) days. Also, include a first aid kit, flashlight, extra batteries and your important documents.
- Touch a Life – Give time to help your community through a disaster or teach lifesaving courses.
- Earn extra cash; take a babysitting class.
- Practice Fire Drills – Last year the American Red Cross responded to more than 63,000 fires. That’s about 170 responses a day – one every eight minutes.
- Help Someone Across the Globe - Red Cross International Services helps vulnerable people and communities around the world prepare for, respond to, and recover from natural disasters, humanitarian crises, and health emergencies.
- Play Golf – This year will be our 17th Annual Masters of Disasters Golf Invitational. It is our largest event of the year and helps us to continue our work throughout the community.
- Support our Military – Our men and women in uniform are there for us in an extraordinary way. Help us give back to them.
- Learn to Swim – accidental drowning is a leading cause of injury or death for infants and children. Sign up for a Learn-to-Swim class this spring or summer.
- Make a Charitable Gift – 92 cents of every dollar you give to the Red Cross goes directly into our core services. Your money becomes the blanket wrapped around a family who lost everything.
- Make a Plan – Make a plan with your family for disaster. Learn what disasters could affect you and plan out where you would go, where you would meet, what you would need to bring and how you would get there.
